Clean and romantic hotel!
Everything there were perfect, including very well run facilities. Very amiable and especially helpful staff with smiles. Excellent location in the town center, and only about 15 minutes' walk to Chefchaouen centre. Plus, not very far from Ras Elma Water Source...

The staff was wonderful and always attentive to our needs and wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. There was always someone available who spoke English to answer any questions that we had. The entire place was uniquely decorated with Berber cloth designs, arches and niches. The pool looked out over the town and valley below. We ended our days with hot tea and tasty cookies. We will be recommending the Dar Echchaouen to anyone we know traveling to this area. Thanks for a memorable stay!

The rooms were exquisite and huge with smoke detectors for our safety. The bed was exceptionally comfortable; and there was a walk-in shower

The location of Dar Echchaouen is breathtakingly beautiful.
Unfortunately, my arrival was marred by a terrible check-in experience. The front desk staff seemed indifferent to my presence and provided little assistance. The parking situation was quite chaotic.

The hotel staff were fantastic, we arrived in town and the ATM's were all down (there had been some weekend event and they had run out of money) the guy at reception the offered to lend us €50 so that we could go into town and buy dinner. The room and layout of hotel was lovely
We decided not to go swimming as the water looked a little merky. When we arrived I really wanted a nice hot shower, however the shower head holder was broken, so I needed to hold it in my hands and the water was cold, however when my friend took his shower after me his ended up a hot shower

The hotel was very traditional and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. We were pleased with our room and the views were amazing. A very nice, small hotel with a good ambience.
The bed was very hard and the pillows very lumpy. There were not enough sunlongers around the pool for the number of people wanting to be there at the same time although this could have been because the space for loungers was fairly restricted.

Staff very helpful with our friend in a wheelchair, rooms very nicely decorated.
Too many stairs for disabled even though the staff very willing to carry person involved.

The hotel was just right...right location (up on a hill, just outside of town), right size (not too big so as to feel lost but big enough to breathe), right price (not too expensive but enough for reputable clientele), right style (thematic rooms but a hometown feel). Everything worked. Felt secure. Staff was helpful. Great views. Nice tile work and stained glass. Loved the fireplace after a cold damp day/evening in town.

Fine views and a chill vibe!
What a fab stay! Our room had an amazing view over the mountains and it was super spacious. Loved chilling on the verandah with our morning coffee. The breakfast was great, especially the homemade pastries! Only wish the hike up to our room wasn't so steep. Still, totally worth it for the views!

It was well located, not inside the medina but just two minutes walk away. So quite peaceful. It has a television in the room with english channels.
The decor was slightly overdone and tacky. The music was hit and miss as sometimes they were playing the buena vista social club and other times elevator music. limited provision of hiking maps ... you need to bring your own!!
